What do Targeted Fat Loss Fitness Group Training sessions consist of?

All of Fit for Living’s Targeted Fat Loss Fitness Group Training sessions consist of science-based prescriptive exercise, designed to directly boost your metabolism and make your body burn fat more efficiently so you can achieve the best results in the shortest possible time.

Targeted Fat Loss Fitness Group Training includes specialty sessions such as boxing, running and circuit training. As the weeks progress and your fitness improves your sessions become more intense, challenging you to push as hard as you can. By doing this, you will burn more fat, build more muscle and increase your metabolism.

My fitness is poor – will I cope with Targeted Fat Loss Fitness Training?

It doesn’t matter if you’re not the fastest or the strongest. If you are putting in 100% during a session, you will get amazing results. It’s about CHALLENGING yourself so you can achieve your goals.

I’ve tried gyms but I get bored.

Fit for Living’s programs are nothing like going to a gym. Our workouts are designed to be fun and interesting to keep you motivated.

Sessions are always varied, which keeps it interesting and workouts may include: fitness boxing, circuit training, interactive games, running and jogging, strength exercises, stairs, push ups, sit ups, core strengthening exercises, body weight and compound movements. Our aim is to ensure you are kept safe, have fun, burn calories and fat and to encourage and motivate you to reach your goals.

What’s the age limit and how fit do I have to be to do Group Training?

Fit for Living’s Group Fitness Training sessions have had participants ranging in age from 15 years to 64 years – all  training in the same group.

Our philosophy is that you have to start somewhere and we don’t mind where that is. If you can walk and are willing to put in the time and effort, you can participate. There is no pre requisite to be ANY level of fitness and we don’t compare participants’ results or race each other. There is no pressure to live up to ANY standard. Be assured that you will feel supported, motivated and positive in our Fit for Living Group Fitness Training Groups.

I feel nervous because I’ve never done fitness training before.

All sorts of people train, not just fit people. Most of the time, the people participating in Fit for Living Group Training, Personal Training and Corporate Training sessions are just everyday people, who like to exercise in a motivating and supportive environment. Having a team around you makes it fun and motivating. All Fit for Living workouts are modified to suit the fitness needs of individuals. So if your body needs special requirements to ensure safety, we alter the exercises to SUIT YOU!

I have never exercised. Does this mean I shouldn’t participate?

OF COURSE YOU SHOULD PARTICIPATE. We encourage people who normally don’t exercise at all to come along. The environment is safe and encouraging. What better way to get the exercise you need than to work with other like-minded people in a non-judgemental environment filled with encouragement and motivation?

Will I get yelled at, singled out, or embarrassed by the instructor?

Absolutely NOT. Unlike what is generally believed about Bootcamp style training, Fit for Living personal trainers do not run military-style programs where a man dressed in camo gear yells in peoples’ faces. Fit for Living creates a positive, supportive, understanding environment catering for all types of people and needs. We don’t tolerate any negativity or bad behaviour, but encourage positive support in all respects.

How many people are in your Group Training and Targeted Fat Loss Fitness groups?

Fit for Living’s group sessions are a nice, intimate size – up to 20 or so people. The benefits of groups of this size is that the personal trainer can give you the attention you need, as well as the group being large enough to create a supportive and motivating TEAM environment. Our groups consist of people of all ages and fitness levels.

Is there a guarantee I will lose weight?

To ensure you get the results you’ve always dreamt of, a holistic approach to nutrition and exercise is CRUCIAL. If you consistently attend our personal training or group fitness training sessions and follow the nutritional coaching, online nutritional coaching or Targeted Fat Loss Program guidelines offered by Fit for Living –  we guarantee you will get fantastic results.

It’s about creating a new ‘normal’, which includes regular exercise and good nourishment. Following these guidelines will ultimately give you the body you’ve always dreamed of.

Can I transfer my Membership if I move away or have a long term Illness or injury?

YES. The Membership can be transferred to someone else if you are moving away or have a long term illness or injury that prevents you from training.

What are the terms and conditions for the Membership Contracts?

We have two Memberships to choose from – 12-Week or 24-Week Memberships.

  • Early Cancellation will incur a $50 cancellation fee, if the cancellation occurs before the end of agreed contract.
  • Memberships may be transferred if you are moving away or have a long term injury or illness.
  • If moving away, injured or ill, your membership can be transferred to a friend or family member at the same weekly rate.
  • After term of contract has expired, membership and payment continues on a week-to-week basis.
  • Two weeks’ notice must be given to cease payments.

What happens when it rains when training is scheduled to be outdoors?

Training will proceed unless conditions are severe such as torrential rain, thunder storms, hail or gale force winds.
If it’s raining, wear wet weather gear, bring a towel, umbrella, change of clothes – whatever you need to make you feel more comfortable.

A TEXT message will be sent to your mobile if the trainer considers conditions too extreme.

What if I get injured or am injured?

At all times, Fit for Living personal trainers encourage you to use great technique to avoid injury. In the event of injury, stop immediately and let the trainer know straight away. If you have an existing injury or condition, you should tell the trainer before commencing ANY session. Depending on the injury, alternative exercises can be chosen to continue the session. Before commencing any exercise, we recommend you seek advice from your medical practitioner. We also require you to fill out a Health Screen Form prior to commencing Fit for Living training sessions.

Where are Fit for Living Group Training sessions held?

Fit for Living’s Group Training sessions are conducted along the Geelong Waterfront. See our Locations & Times. Rarely do our session times change, but if they do, a text message will be sent to your mobile to notify you.

Generally Geelong sessions are held either at the bottom of the stairs near The Beach House Restaurant or near the Carousel.

What about training on Public Holidays?

We don’t train on Public Holidays unless otherwise notified.
